A week-long workshop is also held in Davao City for Visayan writers. The workshop is open to writers in English and Filipino and several regional languages: Iloko and Bikol (Baguio workshop) and Chavacano, Cebuano, Waray and Hiligaynon (Davao workshop). ==Application== Applicants are enjoined to submit their manuscripts consisting of 6 poems or 2 short stories or 2 one-act plays. Experimental literary forms are also acceptable. Fellowships are awarded by genre and by language. Applicants should submit under a pseudonym four hard copies (computer-encoded, double spaced) and a diskette copy (Microsoft Word file), accompanied by a sealed envelope containing the author's real name and pseudonym; an application letter indicating the choice of venue; a 2x2 ID photo; a short bio-data; an attestation that the works are original and not adapted or translated; a mailing address and telephone number. Entries in Iloko, Bikol, or any Visayan language should be accompanied by English or Filipino translations. Fellows of previous U.P. workshops are not eligible.
